Singapore, 16 December 2019 (Monday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) collaborates with Mediacorp Radio Capital 95.8FM DJs yet again, to present this annual favourite Chinese New Year concert Rhapsodies of Spring. Dubbed Singapore’s Little Teresa Teng, singer Yuan Jin will also sing a selection of Teresa Teng’s evergreen songs. Conducted by by SCO Music Director, Tsung Yeh, the two-night concert will be held on 10 & 11 January 2020 (Friday & Saturday), 8pm at SCO Concert Hall.

Singapore Chinese Orchestra will perform festive pieces to welcome the Chinese New Year, which will include audience’s all-time favourite Li Huanzhi’s Spring Festival Overture and Spring Festival Medley, arranged by Sim Boon Yew. To usher in the Year of Rat, SCO will also be presenting The Rodent’s Wedding, composed by Cheng Da Zhao.

The radio station DJs, namely Ko Ee Sim (高逸芯), Lu Linxuan (吕霖轩), Huang Shujun(黄淑君), Pan Jia Biao (潘家镳), Qiu Sheng Yang (邱胜扬), Zeng Sheng Lian (曾生莲), Lin Ling Zhi (林灵芝), Feng Jian Bin (冯剑斌) and Liang Ping (梁萍), will be acting in a radio drama titled Eve of the Wedding Day. The drama unfolds on the night before the wedding day, as the family prepares the Chinese traditional combing ceremony for the bride. The grandparents are excited, the parents are exhausted, while the relatives are exhilarated. However, the bride seems to have some reasons to expostulate with this. Come join us as the story develops; an exciting comedy not to be missed!
