Singapore, 19 July 2018 (Thursday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will perform at one of Orchard Road’s iconic shopping malls, The Paragon on 28 July 2018 (Saturday). The SCO ensemble will present an afternoon of familiar classics and mandarin pop tunes. Titled Classic Vibes at Paragon, this concert is sponsored by the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) under the SPH Gift of Music Series. There will be two performances – 12 noon and 3pm. Admission is free.
From John Denver’s classic Take Me Home, Country Roads to Bob Creve and Bob Gandio’s Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, the SCO ensemble will also delight shoppers at Paragon with pop songs including Three Inches of Heaven which was the theme song to the 2011 Chinese television series,Scarlet Heart. Zhang Lei’s work, Friends Forever, which celebrates the bold spirit of scholars of yesterday, will also be performed.
The SCO ensemble will also perform young Singaporean composer Phang Kok Jun’s Rose Dance of the Yi Tribe; Bracing the Chill, theme song of the 2017 Chinese television series Eternal LovePrincess Mononoke, composed by Joe Hisaishi, rearranged by Chow Jun Yi; Seasons in the Sun, Lemon Tree, and Astor Piazzolla’s  Libertango.
