Singapore Chinese Orchestra and Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant present ‘Musical Bento Box’ at UOB Plaza Atrium
Singapore, 25 May 2017 (Thursday) – Returning to the atrium of UOB Plaza for the third time, Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) and Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant present the popular Lunchtime Concert ‘Musical Bento Box’ on 6 & 7 June 2017 (Tuesday & Wednesday) at 12pm. This one hour-long concert, a-first-of-its-kind collaboration and restaurant in Singapore, will be conducted by SCO Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong.
Sing along to familiar favourites such as Wake Me Up by Avicii, Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars and local TV Golden Melodies. Immerse yourselves in more traditional pieces such as Joy of Spring, Jasmine in June and River Dance, where you will get to enjoy various instrumental solos by four of SCO musicians on the dizi, guzheng, suona and yangqin. The SCO ensemble will also be performing popular Indonesian folksong Lenggang Kangkung.
This year’s lunchtime concert also celebrates the transformation of Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at TOP of UOB Plaza. The restaurant reopened on 22 May 2017 after a major facelift, featuring a brand new restaurant bar, Chuān @ The Sixtieth.
Unique lunch bento sets, comprising Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant’s signature dishes, will be available at $8 a box. Guests can also look forward to enjoying the restaurant’s Homemade Fine Bean Curd with Wolfberry dessert at $3 per bowl.
The concert venue is supported by UOB.
