SCO commemorates our nation’s 50th year of independence with a tribute concert in celebration of five decades of nation-building. The evening presents Xie Xiang Ming’s A Stroll in the Lion City; Law Wai Lun’s interpretation of Hong San See and his symphonic cantata, Ode to Singapore; Phoon Yew Tien’s arrangement of Nostalgic Medley; Eric Watson’s new composition, An Independent Note, which features an excerpt of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s speech, narrated by Lim Kay Tong; and Kuan Nai-chung’s Singapore Capriccio，performed by Serene Koh, winner of the National Piano Competition in 2013. The concert also features vocal band MICappella, performing a selection of local songs, and singer Robert Fernando, presenting a medley of National Day theme songs. Join SCO as we dedicate this gift of music to Singapore, full of well-wishes for more glorious years ahead.
