Renowned Chinese conducting master Zhang Guo Yong is an established conductor in symphony orchestras and opera music. He studied in the Moscow State Conservatory where he received tutelage with renowned conducting maestro Gennady Rozhdestvensky. He will conduct the SCO in this concert. SCO dizi principal Yin Zhi Yang will perform Tang Jian Ping’s Fei Ge. SCO’s erhu musician Xu Wen Jing will debut a new commissioned work Sketches of Xinjiang by Wang Yue Ming, which will world premiere in this concert. This concert also features Xie Xiang Ming’s A Stroll in the Lion City, the first prize winning composition of the Singapore International Competition for Chinese Orchestral Composition 2011, Liu Xing’s Invisible Sword and He Xun Tian’s Capriccio of River Dabo. Don’t miss this conducting master’s debut with the SCO!
