“Tunes of SCO” features performances by Singapore Chinese Orchestra. There are two curated programmes, each 45-minute in duration, designed specifically for Primary and Secondary levels. The orchestra performance will act as an introduction to the full Chinese orchestra experience and the learning of music fundamentals.

The primary school “Tunes of SCO” programme titled Fun with SCO, takes the music experience beyond the stage. Students will be engaged aurally as the conductor and SCO musicians illustrate, through highlighting how Chinese orchestral music is associated with our local cultures, with nature and also in our daily lives.

In the “Tunes of SCO” programme for secondary schools titled Flight with SCO (Style and Genre), students will explore, under the guidance of our conductor, the different genre of music, from the classics to modern Chinese orchestral music in today's cultural mosaic. A selection of locally composed music is incorporated for students to gain an understanding of how music unique to our local ethnic groups has been given a contemporary touch over the years, representative of modern, changing times.

Lively and informative, “Tunes of SCO” will be accompanied by simple quizzes and fun interaction with our conductor and musicians. Selected audience will also have the opportunity to join our SCO musicians in the music-making experience.
