SCO celebrates the jubilee of nation building by dedicating a homecoming concert with established Singaporean musicians who made a name for themselves overseas. Renowned violinist Kam Ning will play The Legend of the Holy Deer, a piece composed by Zong Jiang and He Dong. Kwok Chin-chye, from the Taiwan Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra, will showcase his multi talents by performing suona, saxophone and ya-mu flute concerto Dog Legendary Rhapsody composed by Li Che Yi. He will also perform oktavin with the SCO in Iranian music My Friends. Choo Boon Chong, from the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, will play Qu Xiao Song’s Divine Melody, which drew its inspiration from Jiu Ge (Nine Songs) by the patriotic Chinese poet, Qu Yuan. Local artist Tan Swie Hian’s oil painting “The Celestial Web”, which was inspired by Divine Melody will be projected in this concert.
