“Kampong” to urbanites today, especially to our youths, may sound familiar yet foreign.  We may get to hear the occasional mention of “kampong” and its stories, but  because we do not get to stay in one, “kampong” sounds distant. Ah De will incorporate multi-faceted musical elements through multicultural instrumental dialogues to bring you on a trip down memory lane to experience the beauty of kampong spirit!

Concert will be conducted in Mandarin with English subtitles. Recommended for children 7 years old and above.

Ticket Prices: (before SISTIC fees): $37, $27, $14**

Pre-Concert Activity (10 November 2018 only)

SCO will conduct free and exciting pre-concert activities for ticket holders to reminisce and play old-school games such as five stones, chapteh, hopscotch, goli (marbles), and pick up sticks! Pre-concert activities will start at 1.30pm and 4pm. For ticket holders only.

This Mandarin seminar shares the different kampongs in Singapore. The biggest attribute of rural Kampong is the large space with people of various ethnic groups living in harmony. Post-war, workers moved into congested city kampongs. Eventually, residents brought their kampong spirit into HDB flats, which also termed as “vertical kampongs”. No registration required.
