The programme brings classics, modern and popular flavours by Wang Danhong together, in one concert. Gaohu Associate Principal Zhou Ruoyu will be presenting Amannisha on the erhu. Also, the trio, which consists of erhu musician Qin Zijing, pipa musician Zhang Yin and dizi musician Zeng Zhi, will be presenting Colourful Jiangnan alongside the orchestra.

Composer Wang Danhong said, “These few music pieces which were chosen for this concert, spanned across 10 years of my composition journey. The selection is flavourful, in terms of music and cultural elements. The variety in this concert is something to look forward to.” She shared that “Heavenly Grassland is Mongolian inspired music composed as chamber music; Colourful Jiangnan is Jiangnan inspired music composed for the erhu, pipa and dizi trio and orchestra; Amannisha is Xinjiang inspired music presented as an erhu concerto and Ode to the Sun is a piece of Sichuan inspired orchestral music. Thus, every composition is different, with different content and style.”
