Singapore, 25 July 2014 (Friday) – The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will launch its 2014-2015 concert season on 4 August (Monday), 11am at the Singapore Conference Hall Exhibition Hall. SCO Music Director Tsung Yeh and General Manager Terence Ho will announce the exciting programmes lined up as well as share SCO’s new initiatives in the new season. SCO invites you to join us in our season launch.
Last season, SCO wowed the world by successfully presenting the world’s biggest Chinese orchestra concert, Our People Our Music 2014 on 28 June at the National Stadium, Singapore Sports Hub. This mega concert set 2 Guinness World Records – the Largest Chinese Orchestra of 3,345 performers and the Largest Chinese Drum Ensemble of 4,557 performers! In May 2014, SCO toured China and brought its unique Nanyang style to Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou with positive acclaim. Building on past season’s grandeur, SCO is determined to present an all new 2014-2015 concert season with another year of superb music.
The 2014-2015 concert season will run from August 2014 to June 2015 showcasing international musicians and Singapore talents. Expect to jazz with SCO with renowned The Brubeck Brothers Quartet from the United States, award-winning Singaporean violinist Kam Ning, Singapore’s favorite Broadway Beng, Sebastian Tan, and more! Tsung Yeh will unveil the the full set of programmes at the media launch.
