Singapore, 3 September 2015 (Thursday) – As part of Singapore Chinese Orchestra’s (SCO) ongoing initiative to promote arts development in Singapore, SCO collaborates with students from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore (NAFA) to present Beyond Music concert. Conducted by SCO Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong, this concert will be held on 23 September (Wednesday), 7.30pm at Lee Foundation Theatre, NAFA Campus 3. Admission is free.

In conjunction with the upcoming mid-autumn festival, SCO will perform nostalgic pieces depicting the autumn scenery including Hao Wei Ya’s Flowers on a Moonlit Autumn River, Pin Wei Chang’s Autumn Moon over a Placid Lake and Peng Xiu Wen’s Songs of Autumn. NAFA plucked strings section performs Liu Qing’s Dancing in the Moonlit Night while Xie Peng’s Ling Long, which won the 2002 Chinese Chamber Music gold award, will be performed by NAFA chamber music.

Audience will get to enjoy the joint collaboration of SCO and NAFA in the finale performance of two acclaimed Chinese orchestral pieces – Lo Leung Fai’s Autumn, which is the third movement in his composition inspired by the four seasons and Peng Xiu Wen’s Moon on High.
