Senior Executive (Marketing Communications) (8-Month Contract)

Contract Period:

April – 21 December 2024

Position Summary:

This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to publicize and market the Singapore Chinese Music Competition 2024. This biennial competition provides an excellent platform to develop the performing skills of young musicians, raise musical standards, discover new talents and connect the people by supporting their lifelong interest in pursue of Chinese music in Singapore. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Communications, you will work closely with the Marketing Communications team and competition secretariat to plan, create and execute publicity and social media campaigns and publish publicity collaterals aimed at raising awareness and interest, and driving participation and attendance for the competition. 

Responsibilities:

Content Creation

  • Plan, coordinate and produce content creation for the competition’s social media platforms, including videos and visuals, and crafting compelling captions
  • Work with video production agency to film and edit publicity videos
  • Leverage on social media trends to plan and propose strategies

Social Media Management

  • Manage the competition’s social media accounts, including content and calendar
  • Manage, operate and oversee YouTube live during competition period

Advertising

  • Manage and execute advertising campaigns across various channels, including traditional and new media to drive awareness and interest, and garner participation and attendance for the competition
  • Work with media agency for ad booking and follow up

PR and Media Relations

  • Work with SCO’s Chinese PR agency, media partners and influencers to develop, and manage media relations and strategy

Collateral Production

  • Work with creative agency and event management team to produce collaterals for the competition
  • Coordinate the publication of competition booklet and concert programme booklet

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Marketing, Chinese Studies or Mass Communications
  • Minimum of 2 years of marketing-related work experience
  • Good verbal and written skills in both spoken English and Chinese for working with English and Chinese stakeholders and materials
  • Excellent understanding of current social media platforms and ongoing trends
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, oversee schedules and create social media calendars effectively
  • Basic design skills and proficiency in basic design tools such as Canva, Adobe software eg.AI/PS, to create/modify visuals for social media posts and other digital contents
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors
